Theme sections

The Theme section allows you to design a section that can be used on all your XOPages and Shopify pages.

Section type

  • Normal: You can add a section to multiple themes. When add to a page, it takes a copy of the section. Everything you change here does not update to the original section.
  • Global: You can add a global section to multiple pages. When update the global section, it will be reflected everywhere it is used.

Create section

You can start from the scratch (create a blank section) or use an existing template.

Add section to theme

  1. From the sections list page, click Settings

  2. You will be redirect to the section settings page. Here you can check Pubished, choose your theme and hit Save button. Everytime you save your section, changes will be updated to your themes.

Global section

When you save a section, an option for "Global section" will appear.

  • Check it if you want the changes to be update to every pages which use that sections.
  • If the section is set to "Not global", when you change the section in the Theme Section tab, the existed sections used in pages will not be affected. global section

Global section will be published automatically when you publish a page that included it.

Save section from page

You can save a section directly from a page without editing it in the Section Editor. This allows you to design the entire page and save individual sections to the Theme Section.

  1. Right click on Section (in Navigation tab). Hit Save section.
  2. Name the Section. Check Global section.
  3. The saved section will be listed in Theme section tab.

  1. Choose sections that you want to export
  2. Click the ... button on the top right
  3. Click Export
  4. Save your files

Import sections

  1. From the Theme sections page, click Import on the top right
  2. Choose your file, then check "I understand images will not be imported" and click Import

You will need to pick product/collection/article again if your import section has those elements.
