Offering free shipping is a great way to encourage customers to complete their purchases. Follow these steps to set up a free shipping promotion in your Shopify store and match it with your theme settings.

Step 1: Create a Free Shipping Discount Code​

  1. In your Shopify Admin, go to Discounts.

  2. Hit the Create discount button.

  3. Under Select discount type, choose Free shipping.

  4. Enter a name for your discount (e.g., FREESHIP50).

  5. Set the conditions for free shipping:

Select Minimum purchase amount and enter the required value (e.g., $50).

  1. (Optional) Choose the shipping regions where this applies.

  2. (Optional) Set an end date for your discount

Click Save to activate your discount.

Step 2: Set the Free Shipping Limit in the Theme Editor​

  1. Open the Theme Editor from your Shopify Admin.

  2. Go to Theme settings -> Cart.

  3. Find the Free Shipping min amount setting and enter the same amount you set in Step 1 (e.g., $500).

  4. Save your changes.

Final Check​

Now, test your store by adding products to the cart to ensure the free shipping message updates correctly when the required amount is met.
